If the history of women in MMA was condensed in a video, it would look something like this

It was only four years ago when MiddleEasy made the case that women should fight in five minute rounds. Since that article, the rules have been changed, which only denotes something that we’ve previously suggested in our MiddleEasy stickers. With the purchase of Strikeforce by ZUFFA, it was silly to not think the women divisions within Strikeforce were in limbo. Not the kind of limbo that your uncle used to play when you were a kid to show that he was still a spry young man. We’re talking about the place in Dante’s Inferno, the first circle of hell where unbaptized and the virtuous pagans reside. Perhaps not that deep, but we thought there was a possibility that women in Strikeforce may be a thing of the past.

Since that day, Strikeforce is only a fleeting memory in MMA history — yet women have found a spot inside the Octagon, something that even Dana White said would never happen. Now our bud Cynthia Vance has created a video entitled ‘The History of WMMA’ and if you’ve ever been entertained by two females scrapping in the cage, you should have a look at this masterpiece.
