If Okami can get past Mark Munoz at UFC Live 2, he just may get a title shot

UFC Live: Jones vs. Matyushenko has been gently knocking on your front door for months now and tomorrow it will break down your door, raid your fridge and stomp it’s feet on your couch (RIP Rick James). If you’ve ever yelled ‘[Expletive] your couch’ at a keg party, then you’ve done your part to kill Rick James. Shame on you and your desire to drive every funny bit from the Chappelle Show to a meaningless set of nasal sounds and grunts. If Yushin Okami could fully understand the English language, he would also give you a verbal lashing for killing one of the greatest Funk musicians this planet will ever see. Instead, Okami will have to focus on defeating Mark Munoz tomorrow in his eleventh bout with the UFC. That’s a long time to be fighting for one organization and even Dana White thinks it’s time for him to get a title shot.

“I think it’s time this guy [Yushin Okami] gets a title shot; he’s been here a long time.”

Dana White just validated my opinion of Yushin Okami. He’s the only person in the UFC to have ever defeated Anderson Silva and he did it via…a disqualification from an illegal kick. It’s still a W on Okami’s record and an L on Silva’s which is something Dan Henderson, Forrest Griffin, Rich Franklin, Chris Leben, Demian Maia, Patrick Côté, Nate Marquardt, Jeremy Horn and not even Lee Murray can claim. Granted, Murray pulled off the biggest bank heist in history so in some strange way, he gets the last laugh. [Source]
