Watch: Ian McCall Once Again Become Unluckiest Lost Rizin FF Debut After Nasty Cut

Ian McCall’s unusual bad luck continued today at Rizin FF 8 when he experienced one of the more odd stoppage losses in recent memory.

McCall was making his promotional debut at the Rizin event, from Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.During their weigh-in, they nearly throw blows at each other and then ended up threw strikes.

He lost his bantamweight quarterfinal fight to Manel Kape by doctor’s stoppage in the opening round. The action was crazy in the first couple of minutes of the first round. Some wild exchanges went flying until Ian McCall decided to take Manel Kape down.

McCall drove forward, Kape’s framing forced his forehead to drag across the ropes, after which Kape injured him with a knee. One or the other caused a massive cut above his left eye, prompting a stoppage. McCall drops to 2-4 in his past six fights and is winless since July 2014.
