Hold us. Wanderlei Silva posts a new Rizin poster of him vs. Fedor on August 28, 2016

The longest reigning Pride heavyweight champion versus the longest reigning Pride middleweight champion may happen in Japan, in the year of our fight lord 2016. The Goat vs. the man who has murdered people in the ring with axes may finally happen. Per a Facebook post from Wanderlei Silva, the newly minted ex-UFC fighter is already campaigning for the bout.

If Fedor fights twice this year, then why not make one of his fights legendary. Silva is still a huge name in Japan and even if it’s a decade too late a Wandy vs. The Last Emperor fight would still draw interest from hardcore and casual fans alike. Pride doesn’t die, it just mutants into a new promotion every couple of years and bestows up us fights that were only discussed on AOL messenger and MySpace pages.
