Hey guys, let’s spend the rest of the night talking about Ryan Jimmo and Jon Olav Einemo in the UFC

There’s nothing I want more to happen while I’m alive than for Jon Olav Einemo to commandeer a space ship and shoot laser beams at every single performer in a Superbowl half-time show. If anyone can crash the party on international television, it’s a guy who’s full initials equate to ‘Joe.’ In another time, Jon Olav Einemo would be a warrior mercenary wandering around the Nordic plains, looking for a mammoth to clock in the face with an overhand right. There I go, mixing my historical time periods. Another side-effect from playing too much Skyrim. At least I know I’m not the only one inflicted with the addiction, Paxton Lane reassured me that she’s also trapped in a digital universe that we can never get out of. Jon Olav Einemo doesn’t care about videogames. He’s too busy claiming his annual ‘Coolest Full Name Ever’ award along with preparing to fight Mike Russow at UFC on FOX 2. Russow is generally known as the guy that knocked out Todd Duffee in the middle of the third round at UFC 114, consequently sending Duffee into Pink Slip purgatory followed by ‘First Round Knockout Hell‘ at the Saitama Super Arena in Japan later that year. The key for winning this bout for Einemo is to use his super long arms to summon some sort of deity to fight for him. Alternatively, he can keep Russow at a distance with a straight jab until Russow either goes in for a single-leg or closes the distance in the clinch. Once in the clinch, Einemo may have to evade some dirty boxing, but if he can minimize the damage, reverse Russow so that his back is facing the cage and then uchi mata Russow back into the center of the Octagon while falling in side-control, the fight is pretty much his. Granted, this is a tough task since Mike Russow hasn’t lost a fight since Pride 33.

There’s also more to be excited about. No, Warner Brothers didn’t renew the Silverhawks cartoon series. Ryan Jimmo has officially been signed to the UFC and his octagon debut is at UFC on FX against a very tough Karlos Vemola. We’ve been hyping Vemola since April of 2010. Back then, we told you Karlos Vemola trains by grabbing a sledgehammer and beating up used cars — which he actually does. Everyone immediately wanted a match with Todd Duffee to be his UFC introduction, instead he was assigned Jon Madsen and lost a unanimous decision at UFC 116. Madsen went on to extend his undefeated record to 7-0 before being defeated by Mike Russow at the end of the second round in UFC Fight Night: Nogueira vs. Davis and being released from the UFC after his first professional lost. Karlos Vemola managed to stay with the promotion and grab a win over Seth Petruzelli at UFC 122 but then lost another unanimous decision, this time to Ronny Markes as a light heavyweight. Now that Ryan Jimmo vs. Karlos Vemola is slated for 2012, we may be in a ‘loser doesn’t have to go home, but they have to get the hell out of UFC’ situation. Of course, that’s judging by ZUFFA’s traditional stance on former MFC champions that come to UFC and lose their debut fight. [Source]
