- Henry Cejudo was ecstatic about being on point with his UFC 306 main event prediction
- “Triple C” detailed how Merab Dvalishvili was able to dominate Sean O’Malley
Henry Cejudo boasted about knowing Sean O’Malley doesn’t stand a chance against Merab Dvalishvili.
Sean can’t match Merab
Prior to UFC 306, “Triple C” already predicted “The Machine” to beat “Suga.” It’s exactly what went down at Noche UFC and Cejudo said one of the reasons is because O’Malley is not built for a five-round battle with a high-level fighter like Dvalishvili.
Cejudo even noted that O’Malley would’ve lost to Aljamain Sterling too if it hadn’t been for luck.
“I predicted these things. Sean is not accustomed to going five rounds. He is not accustomed to people on his legs. I still go back and say, ‘Hey, that fight with Aljamain Sterling, that was a fluke too’… I’ve been in there with Merab, I did a whole lot better than Sean… I took down Merab. Merab is lucky I had that groin injury and I’m still planning on running it back but either way, Sean O’Methly got his a** kicked for five rounds and I can’t wait to get him next,” Cejudo said on Pound 4 Pound.

Henry detailed Merab’s style
In another clip, “Triple C” broke down why he knew early on that O’Malley wouldn’t be able to match Dvalishvili’s fighting style. According to Cejudo, “The Machine” has the ability to mix things up in his striking and grappling with perfect timing. Moreover, Dvalishvili constantly moves which made it even harder for O’Malley.
”A lot of people say that Sean was flat, but Sean has never fought somebody like a Merab Dvalishvili, a freestyle fighter… Merab moves, as O’Malley was here, he [Dvalishvili] was literally running, and as he would get closer, he would punch and be able to turn that punch into a takedown, to be able to get on top of O’Malley and pretty much just control him’,” Cejudo said while demonstrating.
“But the thing is, the more that Merab made a guy like O’Malley get up, the better it was for a guy, because he was doing it again. He was fatiguing him through his struggles getting up and then he was catching him again with his punch to his takedowns,” he continued.

Cejudo is planning to make another run at bantamweight and he thinks a showdown between him and O’Malley makes sense. However, “Suga” is planning to have a lengthy break which could last for about a year.
