- Henry Cejudo has clarified his beef with Sean O’Malley to be just business from his end
- Cejudo wants Aljamain Sterling to win but doubts if he’ll be able to beat TJ Dillashaw
During the International Fight Week event of UFC 276, O’Malley was giving an interview backstage after his no-contest fight with Pedro Munhoz. Former two-division champion Henry Cejudo interrupted the proceedings to trash talk “Suga” Sean in an escalating beef.
It appears Cejudo is focused on finding the right dancing partner as opposed to getting into problems.
Henry Cejudo opens up on beef with Sean O’Malley
In an interview with ESPN MMA’s Marc Raimondi, Cejudo was asked whether the beef was real considering they both live in the same city and are bound to cross paths on some occasions.
“It is. I actually don’t mind O’Malley, I really don’t man. To me, this is all about making money, and if I have to behead him to get a little more respect, and to kinda upgrade my status then that’s what I have to do. But to me, it’s all business.
“He can hate me for all they want. Everybody that doesn’t like me they all try to, they all wanted to hit me, all of them. From Dominick Cruz to TJ Dillashaw to Marlon Moraes. Just because you want to hit me doesn’t mean you can beat me, and that’s the difference.”
Cejudo talks about Aljamain Sterling vs. TJ Dillashaw
When asked to share his thoughts on the expected matchup between Aljamain Sterling and TJ Dillashaw, “Triple C” gave an honest take on the matter.
“I would like for Aljamain to win. I just don’t know if Aljamain really has that IQ. He seems about as dumb as a bag of rocks. I don’t know, I don’t want TJ EPO shot of one either but that might be a fun one too so I’ll put him to sleep again.”
“But you know what? It’s dirty to fight a dude like that. I never saw him after that fight and the dude was literally, the dude wanted to harm me by taking steroids and stuff like that.
“He’s just a dirty bastard. It makes me feel nasty to know that this dude could potentially retain the UFC belt again. I don’t think Alja-lame is the guy that freaking gets the job done, unfortunately.”
Cejudo was rallying for a shot at Sterling in his comeback fight but will likely face a contender first before he can challenge for the title.
