If Wikipedia ever created an entry entitled ‘overhand right’, Dan Henderson’s knockout of Bisping would be right up there. Dan Henderson really didn’t even throw that punch, it was just sort of waiting for him like some bad fruitcake your aunt made for you at Christmas. It was nasty, forceful and probably tasted like vinyl and rubber (or whatever those gloves are made out of). Bisping played it the best he could, sort of danced around the ring getting Henderson whenever he could but…it’s Dan Henderson. Dude is representing Team Quest to the fullest.
So it’s a step back for UFC in the UK and a step forward for bad ass older dudes who everyone counted out but stopped critics with a convincing KO. In the Mandalay Bay, the betting odds slightly favored Henderson so maybe these bookies actually know something (or they too have a flux capacitor in their garage).
