Josh Barnett and Hector Lombard have had a long, storied history of not liking each other. In fact, their rivalry is one of MMA’s greatest tales. Legend has it that the former training partners would fight for “hours” bloodying each other up in Erik Paulson’s training center, and now, Lombard (hot off a steroid suspension) is looking at Metamoris to challenge Josh Barnett.
Josh Barnett, of course, is the unofficial GOD of Metamoris, but that’s besides the point. This would be a fight that isn’t the weight difference you would suspect. Hector Lombard is a short, but big and thick man. A judo Olympian. This is a grudge match that I want to see badly. Luckily, Lombard is calling out Josh.
Hopefully Josh obliges his wishes and agrees to the bout (but they both need more UFC fights ASAP). So, while we wait, here’s a reminder of their fascinating and brutal past:
Maybe we can get lucky and their Metamoris match can devolve into a bloody riot.
