Hollywood exists to make people believe the rest of the world is real. That sentence is adapted from a Jean Baurdrillard quote on the concept of Disneyland, but it still holds true. Never have I lived in an area where at any given location, everyone is within walking distance of at least three places to legally purchase medical marijuana. Everything is unreal here, from the massive Scientology compound off Sunset Ave. to the guy on La Brea and Santa Monica who stands on the street and claims that we’re all living inside of a space ship that has been traveling the universe for eons.
