Gregory Rodrigues was back in another violent main event, and UFC Sacramento ended with him doing the rudest possible thing to a hometown main event. He walked into Anthony Hernandez’s building, survived a wrestling storm, and left with a unanimous decision after five rounds of calf kicks, clinch fights, and pure middleweight stubbornness.
The official result was Gregory Rodrigues def. Anthony Hernandez by unanimous decision, with scorecards of 48-47, 49-46, and 48-47. Hernandez had Sacramento roaring behind him, but Rodrigues did enough damage and defended enough wrestling to steal the room anyway.

Rodrigues Survives The Grind And Smashes The Lead Leg
Round 1 started exactly how Hernandez wanted it. He crowded Rodrigues, drove him into the fence, chained takedown attempts together, and forced Robocop to work before he could get comfortable at range. Rodrigues still found room for knees, elbows, and sharp punches, but Fluffy made the first five minutes feel like a tax audit with gloves on.

Rodrigues began changing the fight in Round 2. His low kicks started chewing up Hernandez’s lead leg, dropping him more than once and turning the fight from a wrestling slog into a survival drill. Hernandez kept shooting because that is apparently written into his DNA, but every entry started costing him more.

Hernandez somehow dragged himself back into the mess late in Round 2 and carried that pressure into Round 3. He completed a takedown, attacked the back, and kept punching in the transitions. Rodrigues was fading at times, but he kept stuffing shots, threatening counters, and making Hernandez pay for every desperate level change.
That was the nasty part of this fight. Hernandez was hurt, tired, and still coming forward like somebody forgot to install a reverse gear. The UFC spotlighted that grit in the middle rounds:

Round 4 was where Rodrigues found his second wind. He landed hard counters, punished the body, went back to the damaged leg, and forced Hernandez into firefight pockets. Hernandez still got his moments and even closed the round with another takedown, but the visible damage was piling up on the hometown favorite.
Sacramento never bailed on Hernandez, even when his leg looked like it had been arguing with a baseball bat:

Round 5 came down to whether Hernandez could find the finish. His corner knew it, Rodrigues knew it, and every person in the building knew it. Hernandez kept attacking takedowns and throwing heavier shots, but Rodrigues stayed upright often enough, ripped the body, kicked the leg again, and finished on top late to lock up the decision.
The win gives Rodrigues a huge main event scalp after a rough, physical fight that asked every uncomfortable question. He has worn damage before, including the kind of old Gregory Rodrigues cut that made Dana White react, but this was a different flavor of ugly. He did not run through Hernandez, but he did something just as useful for a ranked middleweight push. He survived the nightmare pace, broke down the legs, and left with the official scorecards.
For Hernandez, this one hurts because the effort was absolutely there. He pushed a brutal pace and made Rodrigues earn every inch, but the damaged leg and stuffed shots told the story by the final horn. The Sacramento card had already delivered violence, from violent prelim swings to the same results lane where Neil Magny pulled off his own late UFC comeback, and Rodrigues closed it with the biggest road win of the night.
