Good news UKers, Bellator is coming to a tele near you, mate

Massive shout out to my Welsh brethren holding down the pints of Cider and Black and hitting up the chippies when the pubs close. I may live in Hollywood, California — but my extended home is deep in South Wales. I lived in a small village called Trefforest for four years as I investigated the nature of reality as replicated in media. Seriously, my PhD thesis was ‘Film as a Hallucinogen: The Schizophrenic Experience of Cinema.’ Wales made me think far beyond the box. Even my lucid thoughts had lucid thoughts. I even documented some of my experiences on Erowid a few years ago. One day I will return to Wales — but in the meantime I’m going to have a vitamin D overdose from this California sun.

Bellator may not have a website (well, it’s back up now) but they do have every intention to expand on British television. As of June 19th, Bellator will be available on the Viacom-owned VIVA channel, starting with that crazy stacked card with King Mo, Babalu, and War Machine. Here’s what Belator CEO Bjorn Rebney said about the promotions expansion overseas.

“We are thrilled to finally bring the pure excitement of Bellator MMA to the legions of dedicated and knowledgeable mixed martial arts fans in the UK. Our long awaited expansion into the UK, one of the world’s MMA hot beds further illustrates our continued ascension in the MMA world.

“This deal is game changer in the UK, giving Bellator the widest and deepest distribution of any MMA promotion in the marketplace,”

Know what else would have been a game changer, Viacom? MiddleEasy TV on Spike TV! Ah wait, you weren’t supposed to know any of that stuff. Damn.
