Gina Carano was happy to be canceled last year.

The former women’s MMA pioneer was fired from her role in “The Mandalorian” in February 2021 after a controversial social media post implying Republicans in America were having a similar plight to that of the Jews in Nazi Germany.

Many called for Carano to be fired and eventually, Lucasfilm did just that.

Carano has since signed with the right-wing publication The Daily Wire and will be starring in their films going forward.

Gina Carano: I Would Have Been Canceled Anyway

Of course, that was not just a one-off post from Carano.

The former Strikeforce champion has become known for controversial right-wing posts and conspiracies.

And while that particular post effectively got her canceled from Hollywood, she believes she would have been canceled sooner or later regardless.

There’s also a sense of liberation for Carano from getting canceled.

“I would have been canceled anyways, 10 times from when I was canceled, so I’m actually happy it happened because my heart is free,” Carano said in an interview with the New York Post. “I’m not hiding. I’m honest, I’m out here. And I’m a very flawed human being. I don’t have everything figured out.

“But I know one thing is I’m attracting people that I absolutely like— I’m finding a tribe.”

Carano’s first film with The Daily Wire is called Terror on the Prairie and will be released later this year. It also stars UFC lightweight Donald Cerrone.
