After having his three-fight finish streak broken in his last outing, Gerald Meerschaert was looking to get back on the winning column against Bruno Silva at UFC on ESPN 41.

Round 1

GM3 on the back foot here circling from the outside. Silva with a kick to the body. GM3 fires one right back. Another body kick by Silva. Quick slip by GM3. Inside leg kick by Silva. Body kick by GM3. Silva is walking him down. Nice counter left hook by GM3. Gerald with a nice level change and gets the takedown. Silva has him in full guard. Gerald trying to land elbows from top. Gerald stands up and unloads on Silva who’s still down. Gerald gets side control.

Round 2

Silva with an outside calf kick. Straight left from Silva grazes past Gerald. They get in the clinch and separate. GM3 with a body kick. Silva swings wild and misses. Nice right from Silva. Outside leg kick by Gerald. Nice slip by GM3. Silva is swinging very wide and wild. Nice counter right by Silva connects. Body kick by Silva. GM3 tries for a takedown but misses. Nice head kick by Gerald. Nice body kick by GM3. Silva with a couple of punches before GM3 runs away. Inside leg kick by GM3.

Round 3

Gerald opens with a kick to the body. GM3 with an inside leg kick. Half-hearted takedown from Gerald misses. Silva lands a nice jab. GM3 gets in the clinch. Light right hook by Silva. Huge left from Gerald puts Silva down. GM3 goes for a guillotine submission and gets it.
