Interview: Georges St. Pierre still sounds scared of Anderson Silva

Georges St. Pierre vs. Spider Silva plz

You have broken us Georges St. Pierre. The fight we wanted most of all, sorry Fedor vs. Brock, is now dead. You killed it GSP.

All MiddleEasy wanted for Christmas for the past nine years or so was to watch Georges St. Pierre fight Anderson Silva in the biggest MMA super-fight ever. (sorry Saku vs. Rickson)

At one time both Silva and GSP were dominate champions of their divisions. They had no more exciting challenegers left to face. The UFC even had both fighters locked into long-term contracts. Yet, MMA fans never got Georges vs. Anderson. Not even Rush vs. The Spider.

Es normal.

Looking back on it all, what the fuck UFC? How did you not make this fight happen. We have nearly a decade worth of ideas floating in our brain space but we have targeted the true answer; Georges St. Pierre is scared of Anderson Silva.

Just watch below.

“The fight with Anderson Silva, there’s been a lot of talk. It’s been offered to me twice, earlier in my career, during my welterweight run. I don’t exactly remember when. I was doing my welterweight run and I had a talk with Dana and Lorenzo and the condition if I would make that fight was a catchweight, because after my goal was to go back down to my initial weight class at 170.”

“Also, I wanted to implement testing, which they didn’t have before. I was asking for VADA and back in the day they had issues. Something happened politically between the UFC and VADA, I don’t know what happened, but they were not interested in that.”

So lame

“The other time that happened, after I finished, I took a break with Johny Hendricks and a month after, Dana texted me asking if I want to fight Anderson Silva but I didn’t want to fight nobody. I said no. I took four years off.”

Weak. So much weak sauce covering GSP’s poutine.

Mystery solved. We are now calling one of the best fighters of all time scared. LOL. Look what you have done to us Georges. You’ve broken MiddleEasy.

H/T to MMA Fighting for the quotes.
