Ilir Latifi. It sounds like the opening verse of an incantation to summon a Dremora Lord. Dana White misspelled his name in his tweet of the fight announcement, but whatever, we knew who he was talking about. His last loss was to Bellator Frate Trane, Emanuel Newton back on July 15th 2011. Before that he lost to Mizuno in 2009. In fact the last time Latifi fought was on October 2012 at Superior Challenge in Malmo, Sweden — his home town.

With a record of 7-2, he’s a force to be reckoned with — we think. Actually the last time we heard about Latifi, he was telling kids not to give up on his dreams. Heck, we’ll even post the video below. There you have it, it’s official. Gegard Mousasi vs. Ilir Latifi in a battle of the most unique names in MMA history. It’s also important to note that on his official website he claims that he’s 8-2 — maybe he’s just projecting the result of his UFC on Fuel TV fight this weekend.
