Gabriel Silva will meet Kevin Ferguson Jr. at Brand Risk 15, pairing Anderson Silva’s son with the fighter known as Kimbo Slice Jr. for a boxing match on August 22 in Miami.
The booking ends a long gap for Ferguson. His last completed contest was a second-round boxing loss to Okemka Jibunor, better known as OJ Rosé, on April 21, 2023. Silva has remained active across professional and exhibition cards while Ferguson’s proposed returns repeatedly fell through.
Brand Risk Promotions announced the complete lineup for a 7 p.m. ET start and listed Kick, Twitch, YouTube, X and TikTok as free broadcast platforms. The promotion did not announce the contracted weight, round format or whether Silva-Ferguson will be recorded as a professional or exhibition bout. Neither fighter supplied a statement with the announcement.

Silva’s activity meets Ferguson’s three-year absence
Silva made his conventional professional debut in April 2023 with a four-round decision over Angelo Thompson. His crossover run later produced a first-round knockout of Ben Davis, two victories over OJ Rosé and a third-round stoppage loss to Anthony Taylor. MiddleEasy tracked both Silva’s second Misfits victory and Taylor callout and the subsequent title-fight defeat to Taylor.
Record totals for crossover boxing vary because commissions and databases do not classify every bout the same way. The useful sequence is clear: Silva has boxed throughout 2025 and 2026, while Ferguson has not completed a fight since the OJ Rosé loss. Brand Risk 15 will be their first meeting.
Ferguson’s MMA record stands at 3-3 with one no contest, all from a Bellator run between 2016 and 2020. His wins consisted of one stoppage and two rear-naked chokes. The no contest came when an initial victory over Craig Campbell was overturned in 2019. His boxing ledger contains the 2023 loss to OJ Rosé.
Two Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship bookings then disappeared. A planned Bryce Hall bout at KnuckleMania V was canceled, and Ferguson did not appear at the weigh-ins for a scheduled Derek Perez fight at BKFC 80 in September 2025. The Brand Risk booking gives him another route back after those false starts. His career began under the weight of his father’s name, including the early knockout that introduced Baby Slice to MMA audiences.

The Silva-Ferguson pairing is the card’s clearest link to established combat-sports history. Anderson Silva held the UFC middleweight title for 2,457 days and entered the UFC Hall of Fame in 2023. Kimbo Slice built his name through filmed Miami street fights before competing for EliteXC, the UFC and Bellator. Their sons arrive at the same event from opposite recent paths: Silva through regular boxing appearances, Ferguson through three years without a completed bout.
