All can we think of is how mad that poor, little grandma is going to be when she finds out she’s can’t fight Gabi Garcia. Sorry sweet old lady, likely born in the 1940s, Julia Budd is on deck.
You’ve already lived through one World War, so why would you want to fight Gabi Garcia in a Rizin ring? Baking cookies, playing Mahjong, and napping are cool actives to Grandma Rizin. Will you still send MiddleEasy $5 on our birthday if you don’t get to fight Garcia?
Love you G-ma.
So Garcia is calling out Bellator featherweight champion Julia Budd and nobody is talking about it. This is progress. Not only is Garcia looking to fight someone her own age, she is fighting someone in her *checks notes* well close to her weight class.
Not only is this a cross-promotional fight, Rizin versus Bellator, but this is an open-weight fight. Two of MiddleEasy’s favorite things are co-promotion and open-weights, can we somehow turn this whole challenge into a Grand Prix somehow? Just hit the Big Red Monster trifecta and let us smoke all of it?
Rizin is crazy. Floyd vs. Tenshin says hi. Scott Coker is still Scott Coker. There is nothing stopping Julia Budd from moving up in weight to fight Garcia.
This is how we want are martial arts mixed; in the most Japanese way possible with no regard to contenders or proper match-making.
Let’s fight for this open weight belt!

Oh, but Gabi was not done yet. Not by a long shot.

Mmmm that’s the good stuff.
