Freddie Roach Claims St-Pierre Wants To Fight “One Last Time” Against McGregor

George St-Pierre’s Boxing Coach Freddie Roach States French-Canadian Superstar Is Interested In One More Fight, Hopefully Against Conor McGregor

A former UFC Welterweight and Middleweight champion Georges St-Pierre hasn’t fought since UFC 217 when he choked out Michael Bisping.

His boxing coach Freddie Roach discussed St-Pierre’s plans in the episode of Brendan Schaub’s “Below The Belt“ podcast.

“I think one more. Just one,” Roach told Brendan Schaub at the Below the Belt podcast when asked if he thinks St-Pierre fights again.

Brendan Schaub asked who should be George’s next rival, and Freddie Roach pointed out at Conor McGregor immediately.

“The Irish boy. He’s got a big mouth,” he said.

Schaub said McGregor Vs St-Pierre might have to take place at UFC Lightweight division. Freddie Roach is fine with that since he believes Georges St-Pierre could make the weight.

“We’ll make the weight. Georges is on a new diet; it’s doing really great,” he said.

“We wanted to prove that we could go up in the higher weight division, and we did that. Then Dana got mad that we dropped that title.”

Freddie Roach claims “GSP” wants to become the first man who won a title in three different weight classes.

“We want to go the lower weight now and be a three-time world champion, three weight divisions.”

Khabib Nurmagomedov earlier said he would like to fight Georges St-Pierre before his retirement, so this clash remains a potential option too. After all, the Russian is the current UFC Lightweight champ.

Conor McGregor is suspended by NSAC until April because of his role in UFC 229 post-fight brawl, so St-Pierre’s team has to wait for the Irishman’s penalty to expire. Also, Conor is interested in the fight against Donald “The Cowboy” Cerrone. The Irishman accepted Cerrone’s callout few days ago.
