Frankie Edgar Vs. Cub Swanson Rematch In Progress For UFC Atlantic City

It looks like Cub Swanson has re-signed with UFC and as per reports in his next fight, he is taking on former champion Frankie Edgar.

Its barely two weeks down to knockout loss at UFC 222, featherweight contender Frankie Edgar is in talks again, as ESPN’s Brett Okamoto reported on Tuesday that a rematch between Edgar and Cub Swanson is in progress for UFC Fight Night on April 21 in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

This is a rematch from 2014 in which Frankie Edgar bested Swanson via fifth-round submission.

So it’s clear now that Swanson will be re-signing with the UFC. He tested the free-agent after fighting out his previous contract in December.

Cub Swanson is also coming off a loss to Brian Ortega via second-round submission at UFC Fresno in December. Prior to the loss, Swanson had four straight victories in a row.

Edgar looks to be making a quick return to the UFC Octagon following his devastating loss at UFC 222 to Brian Ortega earlier this month. He was initially booked to face featherweight champ Max Holloway, who was pulled out due to an injury. The Answer’ accepted the bout on short notice against Ortega, but the move didn’t pay off, now Ortega will get a title shot against Holloway.

UFC Atlantic City (UFC Fight Night 128) will be headlined by a lightweight bout lightweight contenders Kevin Lee and Edson Barboza.
