Conor McGregor, the UFC star who’s known for holding two championship belts, is facing some serious challenges. He’s about to deal with a civil lawsuit, and on top of that, he’s in a legal battle with his former partner Artem Lobov in Dublin.

Despite living a flashy lifestyle with expensive villas and a luxury yacht, McGregor’s money troubles might be bigger than they seem. Former UFC fighter Brendan Schaub thinks that Conor could be losing millions due to his legal issues, with some of his lawsuits costing him a lot more than he’s letting on.

“For him to lose [Proper 12], you’re talking about millions of dollars per month, gone. There’s no payout,” Schaub said on his official podcast. “Because when you’re accused of what [McGregor] has been accused of, that goes completely against the contract and you get no backup money, they don’t pay you a severance fee. There’s none of that. So you’re talking possibly, I don’t know how much they pay him, maybe $5-10 million dollars a month.”

Conor McGregor has been facing some tough times lately. With multiple arrests, public fights, and even a bar brawl, his once-glamorous image has taken a hit. Recently, a Dublin court found him guilty of an assault from 2018, leading to Proper 12 cutting ties with him, marking the end of a major partnership.

In 2021, McGregor was on Forbes’ list, making $22 million from his fights, but the real big money came from his brand endorsements, where he earned a massive $158 million. He also made $150 million when he sold a part of Proper 12. However, with his recent controversies, McGregor’s business ventures are taking a hit. Even the UFC is reconsidering its connection with him, and Brendan Schaub believes that McGregor’s extravagant lifestyle might be causing more damage than good now.

Conor McGregor Faces Trouble as His ‘Mac’ Money Dries Up

Conor McGregor has earned a lot of money, but his habit of spending it on luxurious things like fancy houses and expensive yachts is causing him trouble now. While he was once a superstar in the cage, he hasn’t fought since breaking his leg in 2021 against Dustin Poirier. McGregor was also focused on movies and his brand, making big money, but spending even bigger amounts. Brendan Schaub believes that with his high spending habits, Conor may end up losing more money than he can handle.

“When you’re banking on that [money] as Conor and you’re spending the money like he’s spending … when he was coming up, $10 million changes his life,” Schaub continued. “Let’s say he buys mansions, I bet he bought a few of them. He buys these cars. Now unless he paid all cash for those, those still have a payment every month. Chances are he didn’t pay all cash. So his monthly nut, just based off what we see online, is a few million dollars a month. Most of that was taken care of from the money he was getting from Proper 12.”

“All those companies jump off, so you go from $10 million a month to zero,” Schaub said. “But the government, with your taxes, and your mortgage payments on multiple houses, and those yachts that you leased or bought, those cars that you leased or have car payments on, or your kids’ private school, or Dee’s monthly payment, whatever you pay her for shopping and whatever, or the housekeeper, and then your parents’ house, you start adding that all up … you don’t have an answer for that. And it’s a real problem.”

A lot of companies are walking away from working with Conor McGregor, and now he’s stuck in a tough spot. He won’t be earning any big paychecks from fights anytime soon. Michael Chandler was one of his last chances to get back in the ring, but even he has moved on. While Chandler is still open to a potential fight, McGregor has a lot to figure out before he can make a comeback.
