Shots have been fired as Anthony Pettis is in full Chael Sonnen mode, doing his best to ‘talk’ his way into a Lightweight title shot at UFC 164. Two differences, though. One, he’s injured. Two, he might actually have a point.
While TJ Grant fans may grimace at the thought of Pettis jumping into the challenger slot at 164, some of the things he says ring true.
Perhaps if he wouldn’t have beaten current champ Ben Henderson at the WEC funeral event or been promised a title shot for what seems like a billion times, then maybe we could just write him off. Instead, those things actually happened.
In an interview with Sexto Round, Showtime says that he’s got the bigger name and advises TJ Grant to ‘take fights’ and ‘suck it up.’
Same goes for Grant’s fan boys and Pettis’ haters — suck it up. Besides, the fight hasn’t even been changed…yet.
