Floyd Mayweather Jr Is More Popular Than Conor McGregor!

Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr defeated Conor McGregor once again! ESPN “World Fame 100” list gives an advantage to boxing superstar over UFC legend and the best Irish fighter of all time.

The criteria sports media giant was using to rank athlete popularity were endorsement dollars, internet search score, and the number of social media followers. Conor McGregor will have to look at Mayweather’s back.

It looks like life remains a lifetime popularity competition, and Floyd Mayweather Jr might only be a temporary winner. Knowing The Notorious, he won’t accept that peacefully.

Floyd Mayweather Jr is ranked 14th. Conor McGregor is ranked 18th, with the search score of 172, social media following of 22.6 million, and a total endorsement of nine million dollars.

The Irish superstar should be happy – he hasn’t fought since November 2016. But looks like he has built his popularity on other interesting things. These are official data from ESPN.com: (via MMAMania.com)

“Conor McGregor’s boxing record reads 0-1, but he is in the region of $100 million richer for it. Not bad for a year in which his combined time in the ring and octagon totals the 10 rounds he lasted against Floyd Mayweather in their August megafight in Las Vegas. But he is never far from headlines. When “The Notorious” posts a video on Instagram, it goes viral, but after he threw a hand truck through a bus window with Khabib Nurmagomedov aboard, McGregor was worldwide news. A bail fee of $50,000 and a charge of assault and criminal mischief followed, but it has only stoked the fires ahead of a potential showdown with Nurmagomedov in what would be the biggest matchup in UFC history. McGregor is ever box office.”

Despite Conor didn’t fight for a long period of time, he was announcing his boxing rematch against Floyd Mayweather Jr for August 2017, and he was able to keep the fans occupied with his recent bus incident. Despite he has to go to the hearing on June 14th, people are still interested in his activities. You can check the list by clicking here.

If you care about the lists, the first place is reserved for soccer superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo, while the place number 100 is set for tennis star Sania Mirza. What do you think, will The Mystic Mac be able to get along with the fact that Floyd Mayweather Jr is ranked higher? Stay tuned!
