Conor McGregor documentary series called McGregor Forever is scheduled to release on Netflix next month.
Former UFC two-division champion Conor McGregor had a rise to stardom like no other mixed martial artist in the history of the sport. He joined the promotion as a promising contender out of Europe and quickly became the biggest draw with his knockout abilities and brash talking skills. Although he’s not been as active since the end of 2016, McGregor stays engaged with the community and has indicated no concrete plans of hanging up his gloves.
His last appearance was against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in Jul. 2021. He suffered a horrific leg break injury that left him unable to continue in the opening round of the contest. Given the serious injury, there was speculation about whether McGregor would be able to get back inside the octagon.
The First Look at Conor McGregor documentary series ‘McGregor Forever’
On Apr. 25, Netflix dropped the first look trailer for the McGregor Forever documentary series on YouTube. McGregor Forever is set for release on Netflix on May 17.
It was directed by Gotham Chopra and produced by Religion of Sports. The series will give fans a behind-the-scenes look into the immediate aftermath of McGregor’s injury and recovery process along with other career highlights.
“I thought it was over as well,” McGregor explained in the trailer. “I thought it was over as well, that’s why I flipped into a different mode. It was the adrenaline as well. I know I would’ve came down but part of me was thinking, imagine it was taken from me like that, I would be a different person and it was a bit scary, to be honest with you.
“But it’s McGregor forever. That’s it. It’s done. It’s McGregor forever and don’t you forget it.”
McGregor is set to make his comeback against Michael Chandler
