It is almost more shocking that Joe Riggs and Cody McKenzie have somehow never crossed paths before in the world of MMA before this past weekend in Canada. Riggs has fought professional MMA since 2001 and is still only 34 years old? Since being cut from the UFC McKenzie has be a rambling man with fights in such locals as Milan, Tulsa, Alberta, Saint Petersburg and British Columbia.
Sure McKenzie has gone 2-6 since leaving the UFC’s shackles but never the less he has become a folk hero among a select few MMA fans.
So when Riggs versus McKenzie was booked in the main event of something called Z Promotions Fight Night Medicine Hat 2, you know some weird regional MMA shit was about to go down. Check out Joe Riggs just bodying an overmatched and often times uninterested Cody McKenzie in less than two minutes. A couple of exit interview questions-Will Joe Riggs ever retire? Does Riggs age?
