Two words: holy shit. To top off what was one of the most bizarre, entertaining and unexpected cards of the year, Fedor Emelianenko fought Fábio Maldonado at Eurasia Fight Nights 50. These “grizzled verterans” had to compete against spider ladies, mirror men and an event jam-packed with more action than a Michael Bay film. In the main event, somehow Fedor pulled off a win against a murderous first round Maldonado.
That fight would've been stopped 8 times in America. #EFN50 pic.twitter.com/E1gdglHZVQ

After the Last Emperor survived a mauling reminiscent of the bear attack scene from The Revenant, he looked like the continue screen on Street Fighter. Somehow though, Fedor rallied back with the spirit of Russia behind him and managed to stand his ground.

Why? Why? Why does he stop fighting? Did Maldonado break his hand? Did he have Russian snipers on him? Did he just gas? According to Karim Zidan, the judges were appointed by the Russian MMA Union which Fedor is the president of. Who knows the whole story, but Fedor ended up winning by a close decision.
We’ll bring you some highlights of the entire card tomorrow, but here is the full fight below if you’d like dip your toe in the insanity.
