Fabricio Werdum Vs. Alexey Oleynik Set To Headline UFC ‘Moscow’ On Sept. 15

Last week promotion announced that UFC is finally making a long-awaited debut in Russia on September 15, 2018, inside Olympic Stadium in Moscow. The card is most likely to be UFC Fight Night 136, haven’t been set yet.

As per MMA Fighting’s Helwani, a heavyweight matchup between former UFC champion Fabricio Werdum and Ukrainian-Russian submission specialist, Alexey Oleynik is set for the main headliner.

Oleinik, a 40-year grappler recently earn first-round Ezekiel choke victory over Júnior Albini at UFC 224. After the victory, Oleinik called for a fight with former champion Werdum, said he wants to test his grappling skills against a “legend” in the heavyweight division. Alexey Oleynik has won five of his seven UFC appearances, all of which finished via stoppage.

The former UFC heavyweight titleholder, Werdum is coming off a fourth-round knockout loss to Alexander Volkov at UFC Fight Night 127, which snapped his two-fight winning streak. Werdum 40 has stacked up a 3-2 record since losing his heavyweight title to Stipe Miocic back in 2016, sandwiching wins over Travis Browne, Walt Harris, and Marcin Tybura.
