Everyone Races to Post Photo of CM Punk’s First Day Before Each Other

MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin, January 5th, 2015 — Today is a historic day in the sport of Mixed Martial Arts. Today is the day that Phil Brooks, best known under the moniker of CM Punk, began training at Roufusport in Milwaukee. Brooks, formerly of WWE fame, will make his UFC debut in 2015 and very publicly chose Roufusport as his place of learning. January 5th was the date rumored to be his start date and journalists have been chomping at the bit for that first photo of Brooks with outspoken teammate Ben Askren and UFC Lightweight Champion Anthony “Showtime” Pettis.

Well, #TheTimeIsNow, with Pettis posting a photo to his Instagram account featuring Brooks, Askren and himself alongside Tyron Woodley and some guy that I don’t recognize [note: Din Thomas]. Maybe you do, but I’m currently involved in a race to the finish to write a few semi-coherent words about this rather ho-hum Instagram photo and to post this news to the internet before another major MMA blog beats me to the punch.

These are truly exciting times that we live in and I just hope that I have put this photo up before at least the SBNation blogs have, because as soon as that happens I’ve been truly, utterly defeated and will have to retreat into my mountain lair.
