Well here we go kids, it seems we have ventured into a whole new way to go to internet keyboard war with someone. Few and far between are the days of Facebook status comment wars. We thought that was harsh and then along came the twitter beefs. We’ve grown accustomed to the fact that Twitter is the like the internet schoolyard or parking lot where one heads with an army of ‘followers’ to call out their opponent. Nothing says battle like being able to call out your enemy from hundreds of miles away behind your laptop screen while sitting on the couch at Starbucks and sipping on a pumpkin spice latte.
Just when we thought Twitter beefing was the ultimate in social networking Internet battles, Rory MacDonald has traiblazed the way to a whole new way of waging technological warfare. In case you weren’t already aware, the beef between MacDonald and BJ Penn started to escalate last week all over Twitter. Rory_MacDonald and bjpenndotcom have been bickering back and forth incessantly for the past few days and now MacDonald has taken his beef to a whole new battleground-Instagram.
This means we’ve now escalated Internet battling to picture wars. Calm down, I realize this sort of information is shocking and you’re not sure how to process this level of keyboard warrior strategy yet. But just think that a picture is worth a thousand words so in that case Rory is about 1000 words ahead of BJ Penn in this war. Slick battle tactics on MacDonald’s part. BJ now has to play catch up-especially after MacDonald (who goes by the Instagram name of romac_gorilla), posts a pic of himself looking ripped and huge with a caustic remark directed right at Penn as the caption. Now we just have to wait and see if Penn will come back with a pic of his own in reponse or if his comment on Rory’s pic is the only way he chooses to address this previosuly uncharted battle strategy.
