Throughout MMA history, men and women alike have thrown caution to the wind and just decided to punch each other in the face. Call it masochism, call it fun for the fans, call it whatever, but when it happens it is awesome. The original gangsters may remember Don Frye’s fight with Yoshihiro Takayama, young guns will reflect fondly on the last ten seconds of Max Holloway and Ricardo Lamas. Well, last night we got another fight to add to the pile: Erik Perez v.s. Francisco Rivera.
The fight was already fire, but in the last round they entered into some sort of agreement. Now, whether this agreement was prior to the fight or via telepathy while they were actually in the fight is unknown. However, it happened and it was totally awesome.

These. Dudes. Don’t. Give. A. Fuck. In the last round they just went after it for as long as they could without gassing. Eventually they ended up in a stalemate on the ground until the round ended, but by then it didn’t even matter. That was because they gave us the gift of unadulterated, violence for the sake of violence.
