Jon Jones may be out of the UFC — at least officially — but the legendary fighter isn’t done campaigning for one last appearance. Despite UFC President Dana White ruling him out of the promotion’s high-profile White House event, scheduled for June 2026, Jones continues to express interest in taking part.
Jones, who stepped away from active competition earlier this year, revealed plans to make his comeback on the card, but his proposal was quickly dismissed by White. The UFC boss claimed Jones’ history of unpredictability made him a risky addition to such a major show.
That hasn’t stopped Jones from pushing forward. His request has now gained traction after receiving public support from Eric Trump, the son of U.S. President Donald Trump, who is closely involved with planning the event.
Eric Trump Voices His Support
Speaking on the Full Send Podcast, Eric Trump said he hopes to see the former two-division UFC champion step into the Octagon again — and specifically at the upcoming White House fight night.
“I mean, Jon Jones has to fight there, he has to. I would love to see him [compete on the event],” Eric Trump said.
“I feel like he has one left in him, and man, if there’s ever one you’re gonna do it’s the White House. I think you’re gonna see [Conor] McGregor at that one.”
The planned UFC White House event, expected to take place on June 14, 2026, is shaping up to be a historic moment for the sport. Guests from around the world will reportedly attend a formal dinner before heading to watch the bouts with President Trump himself.
While Eric Trump’s words may spark excitement among fans, Dana White has been clear about his stance. The UFC president said he has no plans to reinstate Jones, citing years of unpredictable behavior and previous controversies.
Jones, however, remains firm in his belief that he belongs on the card. His continued social media posts and comments suggest that he views the White House showcase as a fitting place for a symbolic return to the sport he once dominated.
Jones’ ideal matchup appears to be against Alex Pereira, the reigning light heavyweight champion. The two have exchanged public callouts in recent weeks, with Jones responding favorably to Pereira’s challenge.
Although current heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall’s recent no-contest bout with Ciryl Gane complicates the division’s immediate plans, a Pereira vs. Jones fight could line up perfectly in 2026.
UFC commentator Joe Rogan even went so far as to label the potential bout “the biggest fight in human history.”
