Amazing Domination And Victory Of Edson Barboza Over Dan Hooker!
UFC On Fox 31 takes place tonight (Saturday, December 15, 2018), at the Fiserv Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The co-main event of the evening brings the Lightweight division match between the men with some of the best kicks in the UFC, the former Ring of Combat champion, Edson Barboza, and the former AFC Lightweight champion Dan Hooker.
Barboza is on a cold streak, with two losses in a row, to Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 219 and Kevin Lee at UFC Fight Night 128. On the other hand, Hooker is on the hottest streak of his UFC career, with four victories over Ross Pearson, Marc Diakiese, Jim Miller, and Gilbert Burns.
Round 1
Low kicks Hooker, great opening. Right to the body Barboza, and fighters trade leg kicks. Straight left Hooker, body shot Barboza. Edson goes for a left kick to the body, which is met by a tremendous hook.
Hooker lands a cross to the body, while Edson goes for a low kick again. Hooker eats a combo and body kick after a bad feint. Great low kick, and Barboza lands a tremendous overhand of the counter too! Hooker with a left downstairs and a high kick attempt. Straight left Hooker, low kick Edson.
Counter right stuns Hooker, now he goes back!
Leg kick Barboza, Hooker with a right punch. Hooker chases Barboza, who saves himself with a great overhand right. Barboza attempts a wheel kick. Hooker lands 2-1, Edson attacks with low kicks. I’d say 10-9 Barboza.
Round 2
Barboza continues to punish Hooker, who chases him. Fighters trade punches, fighting toe to toe. Hooker goes to the body, looking for a knee to the head. Punch trade at close range, and Barboza lands a hard knee and a brutal elbow!
Hooker gets dropped while on one leg, but he turns into a takedown into half-guard.
Barboza holds him close, kicks his way free. Great combos, but Hooker handles everything, he is made of iron! Barboza goes for a wheel kick, with two minutes to go.
Great fight, Barboza still punishes Hooker. Now Barboza takes him down to the mat, but he didn’t follow up. Elbow in the clinch Hooker, 1-2 Barboza. Uppercut and hook Barboza, now we see some great body shots. Overhand right from Barboza, Hooker is getting beaten heavily at the moment. 10-8 Barboza, I’d say a world-class domination.
Round 3
Hooker still gets punished. Barboza goes for the body but Hooker tries a single-leg takedown. Barboza on the fence but he circles now.
Spinning kick to the body, what an action!
Barboza keeps attacking rival’s body. Now another wheel kick. Then he goes for a body kick and overhand right, will someone stop this?
Body kick, and Hooker looks stunned!
Oh, common, please stop this! Liver shot and Hooker goes down! Brutal beating and Barboza wins the match!
