Eddie Hall, the 2017 World’s Strongest Man, challenged Dillon Danis to an MMA fight at Misfits Boxing 22 on August 30, 2025, in Manchester, England. After Danis submitted Warren Spencer in 15 seconds to claim the inaugural Misfits MMA title, Hall entered the ring, shook hands, and agreed to cut 64 pounds to reach under 300 pounds for the bout. Hall’s bold promise stems from a feud fueled by Danis’ social media jabs, with the strongman confident he can land a knockout punch.
The Ring Confrontation
Hall faced Danis moments after his quick win over Spencer at Misfits Boxing 22.
“He’s been talking shit for a long time, doing snide comments on the old social media, so I thought he’d put his money where his mouth is tonight,” Hall said. “He wanted me to get under 400 pounds, he must think I’m over 400. Well, I’m under 400. So I said, ‘Look, I’ll get under 300 pounds if he shakes hands on it there and then and he did shake hands, so give me 12 weeks, I will lose 64 pounds, and I will come in and rock his f*cking chin.”
Danis, weighing 180 pounds for the Spencer fight, accepted the challenge but later insisted Hall cut to the UFC heavyweight limit of 265 pounds. Hall, at 363 pounds, remains determined to make weight and fight.
Hall’s Confidence and Respect
Hall admitted to admiring Danis.
“I’m actually quite a fan of Dillon,” he said. “I love his shit talk. He’s got brilliant shit talk. I think it was all the feud with the Paul brothers that made me aware of him. I’m a bit of a fan, but you can be a fan of someone but still want to knock them out.”
He believes his power gives him the edge.
“I just think one good hit on his face, and he’ll regret shaking my hand,” Hall said. Via MMAfighting

Despite respecting Danis’ world-class jiu-jitsu, Hall trusts his strength to overpower the grappler.
Eddie Hall, 37, has a 1-0 MMA record. He won the 2017 World’s Strongest Man title and set a deadlift world record of 500 kg in 2016. Hall debuted in MMA at KSW 105 on April 26, 2025, knocking out Mariusz Pudzianowski in 30 seconds, though Pudzianowski claimed illegal strikes to the back of the head. In 2024, Hall fought a two-on-one MMA bout, defeating the Neffati Brothers. Hall lost to Hafthor Bjornsson in a 2022 boxing match by unanimous decision. He has no UFC or Bellator fights but expressed interest in facing Francis Ngannou.
Danis, 32, has a 3-0 MMA record. A jiu-jitsu black belt, he won his first two fights in Bellator with first-round submissions in 2018 and 2019. His third win came against Spencer at Misfits Boxing 22, securing a guillotine choke in 15 seconds. Danis lost a 2023 boxing match to Logan Paul by disqualification. Danis aims for a UFC contract but rejected Dana White’s Contender Series. He called out Tony Ferguson for a Misfits fight after both won at Misfits Boxing 22.
