Ed Soares says Anderson Silva has never ducked a fight against anyone

I’ve never ducked a taco truck.  Whenever I see one, I reach deep into my pockets and dig up as many quarters as I can find to come up with $1.50 for some carne asada.  If I’m out of quarters, I promptly rob the nearest passerby at gunpoint.  While that’s not entirely true, tacos are life and death in the mean streets of Hell’s Kitchen, New York.  OK, that’s not entirely true either, but when Ed Soares says that Anderson Silva has never ducked another opponent, he’s not kidding.  At least that’s all we have to go with following his appearance on Sirius XM Fight Club when he had the following to say about Anderson picking and choosing his fights.

“I mean, you know what? There’s a lot of things going on. I mean as far as competitors. I think all of them, I look at Anderson’s career and I just want Anderson being involved in the biggest fights possible.

Unfortunately, in the middleweight division right now, it’s kind of a little bit murky in that area because the guys who are out there earning their shots aren’t very potentially big fights…

There’s just not a huge amount of fights right now. So I think we need the dust to settle a little bit, let Anderson let his body rest. He’s not a young guy anymore, he’s 37 years old and he wants to take some time between his fights.

At the end of the day whoever the UFC puts in front of us, we’ve never turned down a fight. Not only Anderson but none of our fighters have ever turned down a fight. Whoever the UFC deems is best then we’ll go ahead and take it. We’ll cross that bridge when it comes.”

And there you have it: Undefeated and undisputed like a cold bottle of Modelo on a hot day.  We’re not sure if Chael Sonnen plans on responding to these allegations, but we’re totally going to let you know if he does.  We’re also going to tell you if Anderson’s camp responds to that, and if the post UFC 148 BBQ ever went down, whether or not Chael got his consolation steak cooked medium rare.
