EA Sports is sponsoring ASTRA, which probably means more fighters are confirmed for EA MMA

For those of you not familiar with the upcoming ASTRA card, let me drop a few cliff-notes. Hidehiko Yoshida is a baller. Actually, Yoshida is an older baller which means he’s retiring. Normally, your job may serve a few finger-foods and give you a moderate retirement package to send you off on your way of watching daytime television for the rest of your life. That’s reserved for normal people. Let me reiterate this, Yoshida is a friggin baller. Dude decided to create his own MMA organization to feature himself as the main event in his final MMA bout. Rumor was that Yoshida’s camp met with M-1 Global in order to snag Fedor as Yoshida’s opponent for ASTRA’s first (and probably last) card. Things seemed to fizzle pretty quickly when Fedor’s camp denounced the rumors as ‘a joke’. This month it was confirmed that Yoshida will take on Pride Legend (and former student) Kazuhiro Nakamura.

Nightmare of Battle has released the canvas design for the April 25th event and I couldn’t but notice the EA Sports logo sprawled on the mat. I guess it’s safe to assume that Ryo Chonan will be a playable character in EA Sports MMA alongside Michihiro Omigawa. Micah Miller and Jorge Masvidal. Well maybe with Chonan, not so much for the rest of those guys but if you cross your fingers really hard and say your prayers at night, dreams can come true. [Source]
