After yesterday, everyone knows Dzhihad Yunusov’s name even though they might not be able to say it. Or maybe you just heard the sound barrier broken. Actually, you might not know his name, but you do know he straight up Sage Northcutt-ed a guard pass at Akhmat Fight Show and the internet exploded.
All we need now are people from the MMA media and the MMA fighters themselves to start commentating on what they saw. I expect blogs claiming this is either the death or the evolution of MMA as we know it like the Will Ospreay and Ricochet match.
Holy shit. Epic guard pass at Akhmat pic.twitter.com/8tWsHEJ4Us

So.. the guard flip guy (Dzhihad Yunusov) just won by Ezekiel choke. Impressive performance to the say the least. pic.twitter.com/pQqAYMENRc

It’s not just all smoke and mirrors and Billy Kidman impressions, Yunusov ended up submitting Konstantin Veselkin with a rare Ezekiel choke from Veselkin’s guard. It looks like he’s pretty good at this MMA thing, but if it ever goes south maybe he can enter into the WWE Cruiserweight Classic.
Check out the whole match below. I give it a *** 3/4. Great creativity, but falls short on storytelling.
