Merab Dvalishvili has the biggest fight of his UFC career coming up but is filled with nothing but confidence in his skills.

The UFC bantamweight divison might be the most exciting in the organization at the moment. The top fighters are all facing each other and the race for the next title shot could be won by several different men. One fight that is coming up and could be considered a title contention fight is the UFC 278 bout between Merab Dvalishvili and Jose Aldo.

Aldo is a former UFC champion in the featherweight division and on many people’s list of all-time greats. He is now looking to make a run at a bantamweight title, but standing in his way is rising star Dvalishvili. The Georgian native grew up training in Sambo wrestling and judo. He is now sitting in the number six spot in the rankings and is said to be one of the most proficient takedown artists in the game and he promises to do just that to Aldo on August 20.

“You guys will see I’m gonna take him down,” he told The Schmo.  “You guys will see, you know my take down is different, you I know he’s good, he’s different. His most good defense, like wrestling takedown defense, but you guys will see I will take him down I think more than three times.”

Aldo is looking for a title shot with a win at UFC 278, but that is not the case for Dvalishvili. He is good friends with Sterling and does not wish to fight his friend at this time.

“I don’t care about title shot now I just want to win against Josie Aldo,” he said.” I have so much respect for him and that’s all I want. I don’t care title shot for now. Especially my brother Ajamain Sterling is the king of this division and then that’s it.”
