Doomsday Howard says if he knew the Boston Bomber trained at his gym, he would have choked him to death

Am I the only person that finds Doomsday completely unusable in the new Injustice: Gods Among Us game? The guy is just entirely too lethargic to keep up with spammers that use Aquaman and Deathstroke. Apparently there’s a combo one could pull off that takes away 41% of your opponent’s health — but good luck pulling that thing off, it looks impossible. Damn, leave it me to completely nerd out and alienate everyone out there that doesn’t own a gaming console.

Everyone knows Doomsday Howard. He’s the guy that fought Dennis ‘Superman’ Hall in the UFC and managed to come back in the last seconds and finish Superman — highly reminiscent of what happened in the infamous comic book series which resulted in Superman’s death — and four strange incarnations of Superman that have never been fully explained even after all these years.

We all want to see John ‘Doomsday’ Howard back in the UFC, specifically on the upcoming Boston card — but it’s not what we want, it’s what Joe Silva wants. Howard recently did an interview with AboveAndBeyondMMA.com and discussed the Boston Bomber training in his gym and that if he knew what would happen, Doomsday would have killed him to protect the innocent lives that were lost that day.

I’m going through a lot of drama with the Boston bombing — my Boston people are hurt. Unfortunately, one of the Boston bombers was someone I sparred with, you know, and I’m proud to say I broke his nose. But I’m also disappointed that I didn’t get to stop that. If I knew something, I would’ve done something about it.

It changed a lot, man. People looked at my gym as a terrorist gym — like we trained terrorists and all this. But what people need to understand is that we can’t turn customers away, man — it’s not the American way. Because somebody has a certain religion or beliefs, we can’t do nothing. We didn’t know who he was or what he was going to become — he became radicalized. A lot of people get ignorant. What I want people to understand is, had we known something, I would’ve killed this man and went to jail knowing that I stopped people from getting hurt.

I would’ve choked that man out and killed him.

Yeah, man. I’ll go down in history as a guy who broke a terrorist’s nose, you know, I think that’s history enough. But I just want to tell all my Boston people at home and across America — especially my Boston natives — I wish I could’ve done a lot more. If I had any idea — trust me — I swear to you that I would’ve risked my own blood, sweat and tears and I would’ve killed him with my bare hands.

I can’t believe that even after a five-fight win streak, the MMA community still has to campaign for Doomsday Howard to get back in the UFC and fight at the card that’s being held in his hometown. What a world we live in.
