The mystery is over. President Donald Trump has officially confirmed the date for the highly anticipated UFC event at the White House, a historic card that will coincide with the celebrations for America’s 250th birthday.

Earlier this year, Trump announced that his official residence in Washington D.C. would host a special MMA show. Many assumed the fight card would take place on July 4, 2026, since that year Independence Day falls on a Saturday. But the UFC and the White House have chosen a different weekend for the unique event.

Trump Makes the Big Announcement

During his speech at the Navy 250 Celebration on Sunday, October 5, Trump revealed the exact date:

“On June 14th next year we’re going to have a big UFC fight at the White House,” Trump said. “Right at the grounds of the White House.”

The day lands three weeks before Independence Day and falls on a Sunday — which also happens to be Trump’s birthday.

President Trump first mentioned the idea of a UFC event at the White House in July 2025. A month later, UFC CEO Dana White confirmed the plan was moving forward. Until Trump’s recent announcement, the only information fans had was that the event would take place sometime in June 2026.

Why a Sunday Event

Most UFC events take place on Saturday nights, but exceptions have happened. Earlier UFC Fight Nights aired on Wednesdays or Sundays, especially during the Spike TV and FOX era.

The White House lawn is a one-of-a-kind venue, so the date is determined by the administration. UFC is adapting to the schedule for this historic event.

Speculation about the card is already underway. Conor McGregor claimed he’s “signed” to make his comeback at the White House card, though Dana White clarified that no fights are officially confirmed.

White has said matchmaking will start in February after UFC’s Paramount debut in January. He’s aiming to deliver:

“The greatest fight card ever assembled” for the White House event.

This card will mark the first UFC event ever held at the White House. Pairing a major MMA spectacle with the America 250 celebrations ensures global attention.

Fans are already marking their calendars for what promises to be a unique and historic night in UFC history.
