Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone Offers To Step In And Save The UFC 234 Main Headliner Bout

Former UFC Lightweight Title Challenger Donald Cerrone Offered Up His Services To Help Save The UFC 234 Main Event

Just hours ago we got the terrible news that 185-pound reigning champion Robert Whittaker forced to withdraw from his title fight with Kelvin Gastelum due to hernia issue.

Shortly after acknowledging the news Donald Cerrone happens to be in Australia extended his offer to replace Whittaker to UFC president Dana White.

Well, I’m in Australia @danawhite “ I know a guy!! “

Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone is known for being ready to fight anyone at any time and if you remember he said yes’ to a short notice fight vs. Mike Perry at UFC 226.

He’s riding on a two-fight winning streak with most recently coming off a second-round TKO victory over Alexander Hernandez last month in Brooklyn, that bout marked “Cowboy’s” return to lightweight class.

Yesterday he took to Instagram and said he’s fighting former two-division champion Conor Mcgregor for an interim title at 155-pound. Both fighters are calling each other out on social media lately. Even Dana White said at UFC 234 media day scrum that he wants to see Mcgregor fight this summer versus Cerrone.

UPDATE:

Another fighter offers his services is none other than current Bellator MMA fighter and color commentator Chael Sonnen against Anderson Silva for a trilogy if UFC wants to do Kelvin Gastelum vs Israel Adesanya.

That was such a nice gesture from Cerrone and Sonnen but promotion moved on with the new main and co-main event.
