Donald Cerrone says give him an hour, and he will be ready to fight anyone

I’m sure when most people think of Donald Cerrone, the first thing they imagine is the Cowboy hat and his confident ‘I don’t really give a four-letter word about what you think’ attitude. If your brain is like mine and has it’s own personal inner DJ, it probably automatically selects theme music whenever you start pondering about a particular person. Cerrone likely makes your brain break out that secret stash of country music we all have hidden deep inside our cerebrums.

Not my brain. For some reason my brain plays out the theme song of Shaft, with a little lyrical change. Instead of singing ‘He’s a Bad Mother…(shut your mouth!)’ my brain remixes it and says ‘He’s a badass white boy…(shut yo mouth!)’. Strange? Indeed-but somehow still appropriate. Cerrone is pretty badass. In a recent interview with Heavy.com/MMA he goes HAM on the 155 lbers and says if he could he would fight every month.

“I’ve been more active, which I love; I’d like to fight every month if I could. As long as I’m breathing, I’m fighting. I’ll take the fight on one-hour’s notice. This is what I do.”

“…theres no shortage of guys that want to fight me, or that call me out, so I have a feeling I’ll keep pretty busy. I want to fight Cole Miller in the worse way. Right now it’s a step back to fight Cole, but its still a fight I want regardless. Danzig can get it too.”

That kind of talk is exactly why Cerrone is called the Cowboy…forget the hat and the ranch and all the other cowboy stuff he does. He’s like Billy the Kid of the fight game with his let’s just stay and get our fight on attitude. He will be doing just that when he faces Charles Oliveira at UFC on Versus Live 5 this weekend.
