When you fight for only five minutes and thirty-one seconds and sustain virtually no damage at all; you are ready to go whenever. I wish I could use that logic on the dirty dishes I’ve been avoiding for the past week, but my wife’s having none of it. Apparently just licking the cutlery clean after using it isn’t hygienic or something. You don’t know first-world problems until you’ve eaten baked potatoes with a soup spoon.
Still, as tragic as my problems are they pale in comparison to the issues prominent Blackzilian Gesias Cavalcante has faced trying to get a fight. Cornering his friends and training partners has been the only cage action he has seen in the eight months he was on the sidelines between his Strikeforce debut loss to Josh Thompson and the no contest decision he shared with Justin Wilcox. Cavalvante has no doubt been ready to go since the end of his last fight and Strikeforce have been more than happy to match him up with Lyle Beerbohm who despite being nicknamed ‘Fancy Pants’ actually fights in shorts. I’m not saying that nicknames have to be factually correct but this one is just plain misleading. The two will meet in Jason Nawara’s backyard at Strikeforce: Fedor vs Henderson on July 30th. Not literally in his backyard Dada 5000 style, although that would be pretty sweet too. [Source]
