Dominick Cruz is out another 6-9 months after his body refused to accept a zombie ACL

The ACL is the most mysterious tendon. Adrian Peterson gets his ACL and MCL destroyed and 9 months later he’s on his way to making men look like boys in the NFL. Fifty years ago an ACL injury would mean the end of your career: see Gayle Sayers. In combat sports we’ve seen GSP lose nearly a year to his injury of the knee, and now the supremely sucky news comes from MMA Junkie that Dominick Cruz will miss an additional 6-9 months (after already being out five months) because his body has refused to accept a new tendon that belongs to a dead man. That’s right, Dominick Cruz’s body is fighting off what could be considered zombie flesh purely out of a sense of it’s own uncontrollable morals, or maybe because it’s creeped out. We don’t know for sure, but it sucks that Dominick is out until deep 2013.

So what does this mean for Renan Barao? It looks like the interim bantamweight champ will potentially be defending his belt against Michael McDonald, but that’s all just a rumor right now. Look at that, a rumor and it isn’t even a Sunday.
