“I don’t know, I just got cleared by the doctor so I’m good to go,” said Cruz. “I’ll talk to (UFC matchmaker Sean) Shelby, I’ll talk to everybody. I’m on track though. So I will be going to fight. I’m going to fight before the end of the year is my goal so we’ll see what happens. … I know T.J. Dillashaw and Cody are fighting and I should be having the winner of that.

“That’s what everybody wants to see so hopefully somebody gets some wits about them and gives me that fight right away. We’ll see what happens.”

Cruz defeated TJ Dillashaw via split decision back in January 2016 to reclaim the title that he had to vacate it due to his injuries. Then in the same year, Cody Garbrandt who scores a unanimous decision win over Cruz at UFC 207 to win the title, which ‘No Love’ went on to lose it to TJ Dillashaw via second-round TKO at UFC 217 back in December. Now both former teammates are scheduled to face each other in a rematch at UFC 227 on August 4.

Cruz doesn’t know what’s next in term of when he will fight, on being asked if he can compete at a Dec. 8 pay-per-view in Toronto.

“Get ‘em to sign it, I’ll take that,” Cruz said.
