Doctor Doesn’t Know How Thiago Santos Fought Jon Jones For 25 Minutes: “I Don’t Have A Scientific Explanation For That!”
Thiago Santos is a miracle! The dangerous Brazilian striker impressed many UFC fans when he battled Jon Jones until the end and lost the title fight via close split decision despite an insane amount of damage he suffered.
Before the bout with the undisputed champ, Thiago had surgery on his right knee. But the Brazilian was landing brutal leg kicks at will, firing hard punches towards Jones’ face, and even won some rounds.
Early in the fight, “Marreta” suffered a nasty knee injury. He ended the match with few torn ligaments too. Thiago Santos earned huge respect of the MMA community.
But according to Greg Rosenstein from ESPN, the challenger finished the title bout with TWO INJURED KNEES. Look at the status below.
Thiago Santos will have surgery on both knees tomorrow in LA.
“It was already certain that I’d have to operate one knee, but the doctor gave another look on the right and said I’ll have to operate that one as well on the meniscus."

When Santos’ doctor was asked to explain how Thiago Santos fought the 205-pound division king for five rounds with such injuries, he was unable to provide a scientific explanation!
Santos’ doctor was asked how the fighter continued to compete with Jon Jones despite the injuries.
“This is not normal. This was his mind. I don’t have a scientific explanation for that.”
