Madison Square Garden saw chaos erupt just before UFC 322’s main card as Dillon Danis, Misfits MMA champion, confronted members of Khabib Nurmagomedov and Islam Makhachev’s team. Among those involved was Abubakar Nurmagomedov, Khabib’s cousin and former UFC fighter.

The confrontation escalated quickly into a brawl, with several unidentified individuals joining in. Security personnel moved in immediately to separate the fighters, while UFC Chief Business Officer Hunter Campbell stepped in to calm the situation. Video footage from the arena shows Danis and Abubakar Nurmagomedov at the center of the melee.

The tension between Danis and Khabib Nurmagomedov’s camp has historical roots. In 2018, Khabib famously jumped over the cage to confront Danis following his submission victory against Conor McGregor, escalating a bitter dispute between the two camps. Danis, who served as a primary grappling coach for McGregor at the time, became a central figure in that confrontation.

Despite the years that have passed, it appears the animosity remains, culminating in this latest pre-fight brawl at UFC 322. The incident occurred just before the main card was set to begin, interrupting the usual calm before the high-stakes fights in New York City.

Videos from the arena clearly show Danis and Nurmagomedov in the center of the fray as security pulled them apart. UFC officials have not yet released a statement regarding potential disciplinary actions stemming from the melee.
