Well it wouldn’t be a Dillon Danis interview without some crazy headlines. This time the SBG Ireland Jiu Jitsu standout has called out Ben Askren.
“I would put up like a million dollars to verse him, because it would be the easiest fight ever,’ stated Danis Monday on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show. “He’s so unathletic, and he’s so bad on the ground.”
The fact that @espnmma and @arielhelwani are giving this guy air time is kind of embarrassing. Couldn’t find anyone better than a 1-0 failed BJJ played to come on the show Ariel? If you are that desperate I will commit to a 20 minute weekly spot to help ratings. https://t.co/wqbAu6NWLu

When asked for clairifcaiton on whether or not Danis was referring to an MMA fight or grappling match, Danis said “I mean come on. A grappling match; that wouldn’t even be a match. It would be like 20 or 30 seconds. A fight, it’d still be in the first round, but he wouldn’t want to fight me.”
Danis would go on to detail what he believed were Askren’s weaknesses by saying “He’s really bad at defending his lower body, especially if I pull guard or something.\, he wouldn’t know what to do. He punches like a pillow; he doesn’t have any power.”
Askren was quick to respond to this via Twitter, referencing Danis friendship with Conor McGregor, by saying “Does @dilliondais have this expense ok’Ed by sugar daddy Connor?”
Does @dillondanis have this expense ok’Ed by sugar daddy Connor? Bc I guarantee you Dillons broke ass doesn’t have $1,000 in his bank account let alone a million. https://t.co/yh9yD5uNYn

Currently, Dillon Danis is signed with Bellator, having only competed in MMA one time, against Kyle Walker. He announced in the same interview that he will be facing Max Humphrey at Bellator 221 in May. Askren, on the other hand, just had his first UFC fight, a somewhat controversial submission win over Robbie Lawler. The former Olympic wrestler has an undefeated MMA record of 19-0.
