This is a Monday that feels likes and should be a Sunday. It’s Presidents Day here in the United States and the Sunday Morning Rumor Mill still does not need to abide by the laws of space or time.
If you are reading the SMRM on a Monday? Congrats, you made it through a time wormhole and MMA rumors still exist in this plan of existence. Also, MMA is very MMA on this side of the universal coin.
As always these are rumors that have been talked about behind closed doors between MMA higher ups, so take them as MMA rumors.

- It looks the UFC and Nate Diaz are in talks for his next fight. We knew that, where rumors get interesting are talks of Nick Diaz also returning to the UFC later in 2018. There is a real possibility that Nate and Nick walk away with new UFC deals here in the coming weeks; without the idea of both Diaz brothers fighting on the same card being floated out.
- Crazier things have happened in 2017 but this new 2018 rumor could top them all. With momentum building, slowly but surely, the new UFC ownership group may be looking to work with some of the new fighter orgs/unions that have popped up in the last few months. WME-IMG is used to dealing with Hollywood unions all the time and the rumor is UFC owners want to “get out in front of” a strong fighter’s union before it starts to hurt the UFC’s bottom line.
- Ronda Rousey’s next WWE appearance will come at the end of the month at the Elimination Chamber PPV/Network special and rumor is it also may be the first time she gets physical since becoming a full-time company employee.
- Despite attempting to distance himself from Floyd Mayweather, odds and signs still point to Conor McGregor taking another boxing fight before he returns to the UFC. Too much rumored money would be left on the table and the ‘0’ in McGregor’s boxing record may be eating at him.
