Despite losing at UFC 168, Josh Barnett went UP in the official UFC heavyweight rankings

Let’s not get silly here, we all know that the only legit and validated ranking system in all of MMA is the MiddleEasy Frate Trane List. Aside from those rankings, nothing even exists in the sport. Sure the UFC can create their own ranking system with a panel of ninety media members, but we all know it will simply be second-rate to the Frate Tranes on MiddleEasy. It’s also important to note that we had no idea the MMA media had ninety members. That’s about eighty more than I initially thought.

Nevertheless, Dana White has constructed an idea of having an official UFC ranking system, and the MMA world will (eventually) abide by it. Everyone at MiddleEasy has no problem with Josh Barnett losing at UFC 168 against Travis Browne and then going up in rankings. We all know that Josh Barnett should have played a blue deck so that he could have countered all of those elbows Browne landed on the side of his head in the first round. In the next rematch I’m sure his sidebar will be equipped with counterspells and old-school Magic the Gather interruptions. Heck, just go hexproof, Barnett. It may work out next time.
