‘The Black Beast’ is back on his feet.

It’s not every day the UFC has its main event cancelled, but that would be the case for UFC Vegas 65 on Saturday. Derrick Lewis was supposed to headline in a heavyweight bout against Serghei Spivac, but that’d be scrapped just hours before and the UFC would then promote Ion Cutelaba and Kennedy Nzechukwu as the two men on the marquee.

Lewis Suffered A Stomach Issue

A stomach issue would be the cause for Lewis pulling out, Dr. Jeff Davidson told MMA Junkie. One day after said stomach issue, Lewis has been medically cleared and released from the hospital.

While Lewis has been cleared, it remains unclear whether his fight with Spivak will be ran back for another date in time.

Derrick Lewis is currently on a two-fight losing streak, with defeats coming to Tai Tuivasa and Sergei Pavlovich. The scheduled meeting with Sergei Spivac could have ended that, but it will be a little while longer until we see the Texan return to winning ways.
